Team Fortress 2 on a Mac – ‘Coz I can

Parallels just release version 4.0 of their Mac Desktop and they claim that with the new 3D (DirectX and OpenGL) support we can now play games on their Hypervisor.

Thought I’d give it a try and the results are mixed, to get any kind of play without jerkyness I had to reduce the resolution down to at least 800×600 (results were best at 640×480) and dumb the details way down.

Here’s the result, note the fps, the jerkyness in this video are in fact from the capture software not from TF2 on Parallels (QuickTime required).

Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.

Or you can download a bigger, compressed QuickTime movie here.

I think I will still boot to BootCamp to play my games however.
